Obituary of Marian Marjorie Shillair

Munger, Michigan

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 29, 2025, at New Hope Bay.  Marian was born on June 2, 1939, in Munger, the daughter of the late Herman and Grace (Grigg) LaBrenz. 

On June 18, 1960, she united in marriage to her best friend, Joseph Shillair at Trinity Lutheran Church, Munger, MI.  Together they shared 64 years of love, devotion and building the family farm together.  

Marian and Joe enjoyed traveling the world, polka and country dancing, and their 28+ years as Winter Texans with wonderful family and friends. 

Surviving is her daughter, Debra Divo, her grandchildren: Shawna Walraven, Sondra (Brian) Kern, Jordan (Mikki) Divo, Damian (Brooke) Divo and Sarah (Justin) Achenbach, her great-grandchildren: Zander, Harper, Ava, Ezra, Hannah, Adeline, Graham, Jaxson, Austyn and Baby Bennett.  Also surviving are her siblings: Donald (Emily) LaBrenz and Pearl Bli. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Shillair; her son, Ron Shillair; and her sister. Alice Emmrich. 

A vigil service for Marian will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 from 3p – 7p at Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe Street, Bay City, with memorial service at 7p.
