Obituary of Anthony Joseph Helm

Anthony Joseph Helm, known affectionately as Tony to his friends and family, left this world on November 25, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on January 19, 1971, in Bay City, Michigan, Tony's kindhearted spirit and infectious smile brought joy to all who knew him.

Tony's life was marked by his devotion to his family, whom he loved fiercely and unconditionally. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Shelly Helm, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. His legacy continues through his proud sons, Alex Helm and his wife Samantha, and Ryan Helm, who will carry forward the values and lessons their father instilled in them. Tony was a beloved son to his mother, Mary Joe Trudell, and was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Helm. His brothers, Jim and Gabe Helm, will remember Tony as a brother who was always there for them, ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.

Tony's educational journey was a testament to his determination and resilience. He attended Bay City Western High School and later earned his GED from the Adult Education & Training Center in Bay City, Michigan. His passion for helping others led him to a fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Brittany Manor. For 30 years, Tony dedicated his life to caring for his patients, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the heartfelt gratitude of the many lives he touched.

A devout Christian, Tony lived his faith through his actions, always putting others before himself and serving as a beacon of hope and kindness in his community. His love for the outdoors was undeniable. Tony found solace and joy in fishing, camping, and exploring the natural world. His connection to nature was a source of inspiration to all who shared in his adventures.

Tony was also an avid sports enthusiast, with an unwavering loyalty to his favorite Michigan teams. Whether cheering on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, Red Wings, Pistons, or the University of Michigan, Tony's spirit and enthusiasm were contagious. His love for sports was more than a pastime; it was a way for him to connect with friends, family, and fellow fans.

A man of many talents, Tony had a knack for working with his hands. He could often be found fixing things around the house, a skill that was not only practical but also a way for him to show his love and care for his family's home and well-being.

Anthony Joseph Helm lived a life of service, love, and laughter. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will be cherished and celebrated for generations to come.
