Linda S. Taylor

Linda Sue (Allen) Taylor, 83 of Midland, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. Linda was at home, surrounded by family, when she went to be with the lord. She was born May 31, 1942, daughter of the late Edward and Emily (Sirrine) Allen.
Linda married James Taylor on March 17, 1962. The two shared sixty-three years of love, loyalty and adoration. Linda was a pillar of light and strength for her family, always selflessly putting the care and needs of others above her own.
Linda was a leader of worship and a teacher of Christianity for her community. She devoted copious amounts of time to her church and faith, becoming sought out as a prayer warrior for many.
Linda was known and admired for her artistic abilities. She mastered several hobbies including carving, sewing and painting. She enjoyed crafting so much, she opened her own store named “Linda’s Coble Shop” and painted it purple. She also mastered several musical instruments including the piano, banjo, accordion and Clavinova. Linda shared her passion for music by playing the Clavinova during worship at the Floyd Church of God for many years.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, James, their two daughters, Traci (Rollie) Shook, Trudi (Calvin) Mattonen, eight grandchildren Amber (Ike) Zaske, Daniel (Riki) Shook, Taylor Luckett, Kelsey (Logan) Tickle, Erik (Kayla) Mattonen, Mandi Shook, Kaylee-Shay Taylor, Samiejo (Kyle Rettell) Taylor, and ten great grandchildren. Linda was proceeded in death by her son, Troy Taylor, two brothers Ernest (Bonnie-deceased) Allen, Edward (Alice) Allen Jr., and one sister Eileen (Gerald-deceased) Stoops.
A celebration of life/ memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Floyd Church of God, 1015 W. Chippewa River Rd., Midland, MI 48640. The service will be held at 11:00 am with lunch to follow. Donations may be made to the Floyd Church of God or the Pardee Cancer Wellness Center.
