Obituary of James Simon Law
James Simon Law, Jim to his friends and family, was laid to rest on December 3, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on November 11, 1980, in Bad Axe, Jim was a beacon of love and gentleness to all who knew him. He passed peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by loving family.
Cherished son of Vera Law and the late Herman Law, he grew up with his siblings Dolly, Stanley, Sarah, Amy (husband Miles Thorp), Tammy, and the late Vern Law. The numerous other family members and friends survived by Jim, embodies the family bonds that were a cornerstone of Jim's life. Kinship and faith were the values always carried faithfully throughout his journey.
Graduating 2007, from Highland Pines, a spirit of service and his heart full of dreams. His Christian faith guided his existence as he was a devoted member of his church, enjoying music and loving others.
Longshot Lanes bowling alley in Bad Axe knew his laughter, the great outdoors witnessed his awe and reverence, Seventh Day Adventist church and the homes of friends and family were warmed by his presence. Jim loved cards, board games, and found joy in the simple pleasures of shared experiences. His love for children was evident, and he loved being an "uncle".
Jim is remembered as a loving, kind, humble, comforting and a gentle soul. These traits defining his character and touching the lives of everyone he met.
The hymn, "Jesus loves me" encapsulates the peace that Jim carried in his heart.
With mourning James Simon Law, we celebrate his love, laughter, and unwavering kindness resonating in our lives. As we say farewell to Jim, may we all aspire to live with the grace that he embodied.
