Randall Dyer

Obituary of Randall Vernon Dyer

In Midland, Michigan, on February 2, 1958 the world was graced with the presence of Randall Vernon Dyer. Known affectionately to kin and comrade as Randy, he embarked upon the journey of life with a jovial heart and a craftsman's hand. On December 11, 2025, in Sanford, Randy bade farewell and left a legacy of laughter and kindness etched in the memories of those he cherished.

During his time with us, Randy gave all the warmest of smiles and the heartiest of laughs. His hands were ever at the wheel, steering him through a life dedicated to service within the Midland County ESA for a span of twenty-seven years. The barstools of Sanford Lake Bar & Grill, Red Oak Lounge, and Northern Lanes bore witness to his countless side ventures, each a testament to his tireless work ethic and his joy for life's simple pleasures.

Randy's heart had ample room for love and passion, which he bestowed upon his daughters, Lisa, wed to Justin Thompson, and Renee Dyer. His lineage, adorned by the smiles of grandchildren Chloe and Colt Thompson, will carry forth his spirit through the ages. His siblings, Debbie, wed to Kevin Lewis, and Jeff Dyer, stand in his memory, upholding the sagas of their shared youth. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. Though preceded in passing by his parents, Donald and Grace Dyer, and his brother Donald, Randy’s kinship extends beyond blood to Josh Woodruff, Dick Corbat, and so many other friends.

Randy found solace and joy in the purr of engines at car shows and classic car restoration, and he never missed a year volunteering at Sanford Founders Day. Each moment spent with family and friends was precious to him. Indeed, his very essence could be distilled into words of the highest esteem: handy, funny, and kind. He was the mirth in every gathering, the solace in times of need, and the helping hand when all others were retracted. Randy did not live for himself, but always to support and give to others.

A memorial will be held for Randy at a later date, when the sun is shining and all the classic cars can come out and celebrate his life. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
