Obituary of Maurine Adair McLeod
Maurine Adair McLeod passed away December 17, 2025 in Durand, MI, at the age of 82. She was such a beautiful soul and will be sorely missed. So very talented and smart with a heart of gold and a word of encouragement to anyone in need. Born December 28, 1942 in Flint, MI to Edythe Fortune McLeod Lytle and Charles McLeod, she is survived by her daughter, Monika Adair Switzer, and son-in-law Randall Kean Switzer of Vassar, MI, grandchildren Lisa Adair Switzer and wife Kristina Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska and James Ryan Switzer of Vassar, MI along with great-grandchildren Ricky Kean Switzer, and Eralynn Saylor Adair Switzer of Wasilla, AK. Also, sisters Penelope Neimann and spouse Russell Neimann of Davison, MI, Shannon Hall of Traverse City, MI, and Tina Lytle Hood and spouse Mike Hood of Durand, MI along with brothers James Lytle of Birch Run, MI and Christopher Lytle and spouse Tracy Lytle of Durand, MI, and nieces Dawn Unsel Ridge (and wife Jack Buckley), of Davison, MI, Aaron (and Tonnie) Unsel of Smyrna, TN, Andrea Unsel (and wife Nancy Penney) of Attica, Michigan, Timothy Hall of Detroit, MI and David Hall (and wife Tonya, deceased) of Traverse City, MI, Greyson Lytle and Hannah Lytle of Durand, MI along with many others in extended family, and friends too numerous to mention. She was preceeded in death by her parents, two spouses Mont Moore and James Raishe, and long time companion Phil Cline, nieces Lori Hall Steele and Marci Hall and niece-in-law Tonya Hall who were all tragically taken before their time. Rene will be sorely missed by each one of us and we are all heartbroken to see her go. She lived in Burton, MI and Flint, MI for most of her life. She lived in Spruce, MI at Hubbard Lake for many years, and with her sister Shannon Hall in Traverse City on and off over the years, and with me in Wasilla, AK for a year before returning to Michigan. She spent the last four years at Durand Senior Care and had many friends there. Her daughter was blessed to have spent the last 2 years visiting her there, and was with her when she passed over into a place better than this world. She was a beautiful lady and made friends wherever she went. She was a talented singer and member of Sweet Adelines for many years. She had a mensa level intelligence as anyone will attest and loved engaging conversation. She loved her family and her grandchildren with all her heart and would do anything for them. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Donations may be sent to Alzheimers Association in lieu of flowers. I love you so much Mama... my heart is broken. I will see you in heaven.
