Obituary of Gary Stuart McClain
Gary Stuart McClain, of Midland, Michigan, and previously of Belding, Grayling and Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away December 19, 2025.
Gary was born on February 8, 1947 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Jack L. and Dorothy B. McClain.
He enjoyed flyfishing, camping, hunting, baking, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Gary dedicated his life to education, was an avid storyteller, and loved reading.
Gary is survived by his wife, Karen Sue McClain; children, Bill (Heidi) McClain and Kim (Peter) Welter; as well as grandchildren, Kylie McClain, Griffin McClain, Alex Welter, Hannah Welter, Bethany (Christian) Gordon, and Grace Welter. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and John McClain.
