Obituary of William Raymond Walter
William “Bill” Raymond Walter, age 85, formerly from Perry, MI, passed away on December 22, 2025, at Dobie Road Medical Facility, Okemos, MI. He was born February 12, 1940, in Owosso, MI., to the late Wesley and Marietta Walter.
Bill started working for the Shiawassee Telephone Company in Perry, MI, in the 1970s where he worked his way up to regional Manager and eventually to the TDS Corporate office in Madison, WI.
Bill enjoyed serving the community of Perry where he volunteered as an auxiliary police officer, sat on the City Council, and held various positions throughout the county and state in the telecommunications field. He was instrumental in the growth and development of the M-52 and I-69 business expansion in the Township of Perry. Bill had a gift for gab and enjoyed socializing at deer camps, golf courses, and his granddaughters sporting events.
Bill is survived by his daughter Pamela (Mark) Warfle, and grandchildren Jonathan Warfle and Arena (Eric) Warfle Higgs.
