Milton Williams

Obituary of Milton Roy Williams

Milton Roy Williams, lovingly known as Milt to his friends and family, was a beacon of joy and laughter in the Bay City community, where he was both born on November 9, 1942 to the late Roy Williams and Beatrice Rogucki, and peacefully passed away on December 24, 2025. Milt's life was a testament to the power of humor, friendship, and faith, which he embraced wholeheartedly as a devoted Christian and a man who never missed an opportunity to crack a joke.

He is survived by his children, Jacqueline Wontorcik, Julie (Robert) Pelton, grandchildren, Katelyn Welch, Calvin and Connor Pelton, great grandson JJ Welch. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Ann Williams of 55 years.

Milt's career as a skilled machinist was marked by his meticulous craftsmanship and the respect he earned from his colleagues. His work was not just a job; it was a canvas for his integrity and dedication. Beyond his professional life, Milt was deeply involved in his community, serving with a smile in the kitchens of churches, schools, and local events like the Bay City Fireworks and Tall Ship Celebration. His hands were always busy, but his heart was never too full to help others.

A man of many passions, Milt's love for music at the age of 5 was infectious. His fingers danced on his accordion, cordovox and keyboard as he filled the air with the vibrant tunes of Polish music. His voice, a familiar and cherished presence, resonated with the sounds of joy as he sang and played his instruments in bands for many years, spreading cheer and tapping feet.

Milt's life was a reflection of fellowship and community, illustrated by his active membership in the Moose Fraternity and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Those clubs were not just social gatherings for him; they were extensions of his family, circles where he could share stories, meals, and the occasional beer or milkshake. His love for fish and chicken dinners was only surpassed by the delight he found in the company of his friends and loved ones.

An avid motorcyclist, Milt found freedom on the open road, often accompanied by his closest friends. The wind in his hair and the sun on his face were the perfect backdrop for his adventures. At home, his grandchildren were the source of his deepest pride and joy. His daily interactions with them were filled with his fun sense of humor and loving guidance, shaping memories that would last a lifetime.

Milt was the embodiment of a friendly spirit, always ready with a quip to lighten the mood. In his own words, he would often echo the humorous wisdom of the great Bob Hope: "I don't feel old. I don't feel anything until noon. Then it's time for my nap." This lighthearted approach to life endeared him to all who knew him.

As we bid farewell to Milton Roy Williams, we remember a man who lived life with a laugh, loved with a full heart, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. His legacy of laughter, love, and service will continue to resonate through the community he cherished so dearly. Milt's journey on earth may have concluded, but the echoes of his joyful spirit will reverberate for eternity.
