Obituary of Lisa Renee Howse

Lisa Renee Howse (Cooper), age 57, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Vassar, Michigan. Born on April 1, 1968, in Caro, Michigan, Lisa lived a life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to her family and community.

A proud graduate of Vassar High School’s Class of 1986, Lisa began her working life at Curly Cone in Millington. Her strong work ethic and determination led her to a career at Means Industry. Eventually, she fulfilled a dream by becoming the owner of Betty Lou's restaurant in Vassar, where she served the community with warmth and dedication until 2013.

Lisa was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved planting flowers and spending time outdoors, often watching birds and sunsets from her back porch—a place that brought her peace and reflection. Above all else, Lisa cherished time spent with her family. Her love for them was unwavering and wholehearted.

She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Howse; her son, Ryan Howse; her daughter, Alexandria Howse; and her treasured grandchildren: Blaine, Addilyn, and Axel. She also leaves behind her father, Larry Cooper; and her brother, John Cooper. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Cooper.

Those who knew Lisa remember her as a beautiful person inside and out—always ready to lend a hand or offer comfort when it was needed most. Her kindness and strength left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

May Lisa’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Vassar Eagles Hall, 651 State Rd.
