Obituary of Janice Ann Cronk
Janice A. Cronk, affectionately known as Jan, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 6, 2026, at the age of 85, in her hometown of Bay City, Michigan, where she was also born on January 27, 1941. After graduating from Handy High School in 1959, Jan's Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with guidance and comfort through all of life's trials and celebrations. Jan's passions were as diverse as they were numerous. She was an avid horseback rider, feeling most at home when galloping through the fields of Michigan. Her love for motorcycles showcased her adventurous spirit, and she could often be found taking to the open road, wind in her hair and a smile on her face. Jan also possessed a remarkable talent for building birdhouses and crafting, bringing beauty and joy to her community through her handiwork. Traveling was another of Jan's great joys. She found delight in exploring new places.
Her sense of adventure was equally matched by her dedication as a pit crew member, where she contributed her skills and enthusiasm to the thrilling world of racing. Above all, Jan was a true animal lover. Her gentle heart extended to all creatures, great and small, and she was known for her compassionate care for the animals that were fortunate to cross her path. Janice A. Cronk's life was a tapestry of experiences.
As we say goodbye to Jan, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who loved her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the birdhouses she crafted will continue to provide shelter and a reminder of her enduring presence in this world. Jan was kindhearted and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her longtime soulmate, Russell Mustar; sister-in-law, Clara Cronk; niece Linda Fitzpatrick; nephews, Louie and John Cronk; and Karr and Mike McCurdy.
