Obituary of James Edward Hahn
James Edward Hahn, known as Jim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026 at the age of 85 at Bay County Medical Care Facility. The son of the late George and Hulda (Brown) he was Born on December 1, 1940 in Bay City, Michigan.
Jim is survived by his daughters Jill (Jeff) Wellman and Julie (Rick) Linder, his daughter-in-law Brenda Hahn, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His sisters, Judith Kazmierski and Jennifer (Roger) Scherzer and brother Jay Hahn will fondly remember Jim for the strong bonds they shared. He was predeceased by his son, James E. Hahn, Jr. his brother Jeff Hahn, his brother-in-law, Ronald Kazmierski, and sister-in-law Rachelle Hahn.
He spent over 30 years building a career at Valley Oxygen and Michigan Airgas where his analytical mind and hands-on approach were greatly valued. Even after retirement Jim continued to work at Berger’s Family Restaurant where he was a beloved member of the team.
A man of many interests, Jim was well known on the lanes, rolling the first 300 game recorded at Monitor Lanes. He also played blooper ball for the Bell Bar, winning many championships and enjoyed golf. He was an avid collector of baseball and basketball cards.
