Obituary of Robert Dale Martin, Jr.
Robert Dale Martin Jr. (Bob), passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the age of 57 in his hometown of Midland, Michigan. Bob was a kind, humorous, and spirited man who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Born in Midland on February 21, 1968, Bob graduated from Dow High School in 1987. His youthful energy and love for life were evident in his many passions which included outdoorsmanship, music, and cooking. He reveled in the simplicity and beauty of nature, whether he was fishing, hunting for morels, or enjoying the warmth of a campfire under the stars. Bob loved the iconic sounds of rock and roll, with a special affinity for the band KISS, which he admired since his younger days. His enthusiasm for music was contagious and often served as the soundtrack for the memorable moments he shared with friends and family. Bob found much joy in cooking, but especially when it involved grilling. His culinary creations were more than meals - they were expressions of his love and care. His laughter and storytelling would often accompany his hospitality.
Bob's legacy is continued through his sons, Justin and Adam Martin, and their mother Christine. Bob is survived by his mother, Amanda Martin; brothers, Charles Martin and Brian (Shawn) Martin; and nieces and nephews, Amanda, Charles, Anne, Johnny, Trevor, Carter and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Martin Sr.; and brother John (Lisa) Martin.
Bob has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Bob. May your spirit soar as freely as it did in the time we shared with you.
