Obituary of Sharon Gayle Williams

Sharon Gayle (Collins) Williams, born July 11, 1955, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away on January 12, 2026.

Sharon was a devoted partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose strength and dedication touched all who knew her. She shared many loving years with her long-time partner, Dennis Williams, and was a proud and caring mother to her son, Jason (Karen) Robinson. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Jon Williams and Shalynn Lawrence, whom she loved deeply and spoke of often with pride.

She is also survived by her brother, Brent Collins; her nieces, Jamie Melching and Sarah Collins; and her nephews, Joshua Melching and Sage Collins.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sherrill (Vogler) Collins; her brother, Billy Collins; and her sister, Dawn Orona.

A woman of service and commitment, Sharon was very proud of her military service, dedicating eight years of her life to serving her country in the United States Army. She loved reminiscing about her travels during her time in the military and often shared stories of the places she had been and the experiences that shaped her life. Her sense of duty, resilience, and patriotism remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

In her quieter moments, Sharon found comfort in reading and treasured the companionship of her beloved cats. She also greatly enjoyed sharing memories — especially stories from Jason’s childhood — and could often be found singing songs she remembered from her youth, filling the room with nostalgia and warmth.

A memorial service to honor Sharon’s life will be held on June 20, 2026, at Canada Creek Ranch, in the Bickley Room, located at 23500 Ranch House Trail, Atlanta, Michigan 49709. The family will receive guests from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sharon will be remembered for her strength, her love of family, and the memories she so generously shared.
