Obituary of Michael George Corpuz III

Michael George Corpuz III passed away on January 18, 2026, in Bay City, Michigan, surrounded by family. Born on July 17, 1984, in Porterville, California, Mikey lived 41 years marked by a strong presence, a deep connection to family, and pride in his heritage as a Makah Native American, with Filipino and Mexican roots that shaped who he was.

He was the beloved son of Irene Corpuz and the late Michael Corpuz Jr. His family legacy included his grandfather Michael Corpuz I and grandmother Rachel Tongate, as well as grandparents Florentino and Maria Martinez. His life was enriched by the love and support of many across generations.

Mikey is remembered by his brothers Frank and Victor Corpuz and sisters Amanda Soliz, Reyna Reyes, Rachel and Mikayla Corpuz. He also held close bonds with his Tia and Tio, Jackie and David Neering; cousins Christina, Kelly, and Candice; six nieces; four nephews; and numerous other Tias, Tios, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, all his grandparents, his Tias Yolanda and Martha Martinez, and cousin Enrique Martinez.

A proud boilermaker, Mikey was known for his strong work ethic, resilience, and dedication—qualities that carried through every part of his life. Known for his kind heart and unwavering loyalty, he left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His stubborn streak was matched by a steadfast devotion to the people he cared about, offering strength and quiet support when it mattered most.

Playing cards and shooting pool were among Mikey’s favorite pastimes. Whether on his own or surrounded by friends and family, he knew how to enjoy every moment. He especially loved spending time with family and friends and was known to many as Big Mike.

Michael George Corpuz III will be deeply missed. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and continue to inspire the bonds he helped nurture throughout his life.
