Obituary of James Arthur Childs

James Arthur Childs, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on October 27, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, Jim was a man of warmth, humor, and dedication, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Jim was the beloved son of the late Clarence and Betty Childs. He was a cherished brother, preceded in death by David Childs and Betty Jo Burke. Jim's legacy continues through his sister, Linda (Mark) Ploe, along with many nieces and nephews and a host of great friends who will fondly remember his kindness and the joy he brought to their lives. He is also survived by (2) daughters and (3) granddaughters.

Throughout his career, Jim was a respected and valued employee at RPM Auto Sales, where he spent several years sharing his expertise and camaraderie. His work ethic and engaging personality made him not only a favorite among his colleagues but also a friend to many within the community.

As we say goodbye to Jim, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. His spirit will continue to guide and comfort us, as we hold him close in our hearts forever. Jim's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his influence will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy will never be forgotten.
