Obituary of Virginia Lee Rusch

Virginia “Ginny” Clark Rusch passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, at the age of 92, with her family by her side.

Ginny was born on January 9, 1934, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Irving and Edna (Baumgartner) Clark. On July 24, 1954, she married her life long dance partner, Robert L. Rusch, in Saginaw. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing on July 7, 2017.

Ginny worked as a secretary throughout her career, most recently at Saginaw Community Hospital. She found great joy in traveling with Bob, playing games with her family, reading, and spending time with friends at bridge and water aerobics. Most especially, she treasured the companionship of her faithful four-legged friend, Cocoa. Ginny was a longtime and devoted member of Second Presbyterian Church.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren:

Kim (Craig) Atkins; Benjamin (Cathy) Atkins, Finan; Andy (Miranda) Atkins, Dexter and Ember; 

Laurie Millar; Caitlin Millar Nydegger, Ella, Sadie, and Claire; Jacob (Kelsey) Millar, Zoe, Jensen, Jasper, and Kingsleigh;

daughter-in-law Janet Rusch,  Kelsey (Jacob) Mecham, Harper and Cooper; Ryan (Melody) Rusch;

and her dear friend, Joyce Grzesiak.

In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Robert M. Rusch; her great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Parker Mecham; and her sister, Ann Densmore.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Road, Saginaw, Michigan. The Reverend Ted McCullough will officiate.
