Obituary of Bernice Florence Swan

Bernice Florence Swan, age 101 of Corunna, went to her forever home in heaven on Monday February 9, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the  Owosso Free Methodist Church, 1249 N. Chipman Street, Owosso Michigan. Pastor Bill Moull will officiate. The family will receive friends at Church prior to the service from  2-3 pm.

Bernice was born June 10, 1924 in Corunna, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Philfus) Tejkl. She attended St. Paul Catholic School. On July 27, 1945 she married the love of her life, Charles Swan Sr. Together they were blessed with five children, Patricia Hilliker, Susie Kalisek, Charles Swan Jr. (Karen), Sally Harkema, & Tina Zilliox; and granddaughter, Tara Swan.

Bernice spent her life dedicated to her children and family. She was a true disciple and loved the Lord deeply.  She was an active member of Owosso Free Methodist Church.  Bernice enjoyed gardening, canning and swinging on her back deck in the sun. Everyone was welcomed at Bernice’s house and left well fed.

She is survived by son, Charles Jr.; daughters, Patricia, Susie, Sally, and Tina; grandchildren, Edward (Heather) Hilliker, Travis Hilliker, Tricia (Kurt) Warner, Tami (Darrin) Parker, Ronald (Mindy) Kalisek, Charles J. Swan, Jason Swan, Angie Miller, Hillarie (Norm) Holm, Tara Swan, & Michael (Katie) Zilliox. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great- great-grandchildren; and sister, Alice Stawaz. Bernice was predeceased by her parents; 6 brothers; 3 sisters; and sons-in-law, William Harkema, Ronald Kalisek & grandson Charles Edward.

We are blessed to know our loving mother is no longer imagining what heaven will be like, she is rejoicing with her heavenly father.
