Joyce Faye Demo, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born March 23, 1937, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love.
In her early years, Joyce was a devoted partner on the Swarthout family farm and became known as a wonderful baker and cook, filling her home with fresh breads and homemade meals. Later in life, she worked as a day care helper and enjoyed cake decorating, painting, and gardening. She was deeply involved in her church and was a faithful follower of Jesus, living out her faith through kindness, generosity, and service to others.
Joyce was first married to Carl Swarthout the love of her life who preceded her in death. She later married Ted Chambers, and Brent Demo, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her four daughters: Karen and Will Sirrine; Susan and Karl Kruzell; Carla and Tom Cudney; and Michele and Scott Chalmers; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Diana Volz; and her beloved dog, Bella. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marjorie Volz, siblings Barbra Bauer, Ray Volz.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, April 4, 2026, at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 AM – 11 AM.
Joyce’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
