Obituary of Lawrence Arthur Tremper
Lawrence “Larry” Tremper, age 81, of Beaverton passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, February 23, 2026. Larry was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 14, 1944, to Eric and Wilma Tremper. On April 6, 1964, Larry married his one true love Shirley Ann Fetters. Together they shared 61 wonderful years building a family and life they loved.
Larry began his career at The Dow Chemical Company in September 1967 as an Operator and eventually working in Maintenance, dedicating 34 years of service before retiring in September 2001. Larry had a love for being outdoors, especially sitting on his front porch basking in the sun and cruising the neighborhood on his golf cart. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandchildren at deer camp, spending time on his pontoon on Wixom Lake, and just simply hanging with his beloved dog and best friend Lily. He was the neighborhood — Mr. Fix-it, often bringing all the neighbor’s discarded odds and ends back to life, taking things apart and putting them back together, and fixing whatever he could get his hands on.
Larry is survived by the love of his life, Shirley Tremper; sons, Todd (Dawn) Tremper, Troy (Laurie) Tremper, Trever (Patti) Tremper; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Preston Watson) Tremper, Blake (Tori) Tremper, Jaycee (Dustin) Pfeiffer, Madison (Travis) Gray, Olyvia Tremper, Sean (Macky) Lease, and Lindsay (Mohamad Abdeh) Lease; great-grandchildren, Maliah, Paisley, Lane, Hayden, Liam, Hannah, Simon, Emma, and Nora; sister, Kay (Jerry Hall) Preston; sisters-in-law, Donna (Bob) Wischmeyer and Debbie Priest; brothers-in-law, Bruce Chapin, Chuck (Deb) Fetters, and Dan (Pat) Fetters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric Tremper and Wilma (Elmer) Gould; sister, Sondra Chapin; brother, Jim Tremper; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet (Bernard) Clark; brothers-in-law, Glen Fetters and Tom Priest.
