Obituary of Sharon Lynn McClorey

Sharon Lynn McClorey passed away on February 25, 2026 surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with cancer.  Always stubborn, she did things her way until the very end.

Sharon was born October 22, 1951 to Paul T. and Marilyn M. Dost (Griebe).  She was preceded in death by her mother on December 5, 1955.  She was raised by her mom, Freida A. Dost (Schilk).

Sharon graduated from Caro High School in 1969.  She worked various jobs, including working for the FBI and on Mackinac Island.  She became a mail carrier for the Post Office in Bay City, making friends on every route for over 30 years before retiring in 2020.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, shopping, going to the movies, cooking, good food, decorating for every holiday, luncheons with the girls, and always sharing her honest opinion.

She is survived by her children, Shannon McClorey of Essexville and Shawn (Shaunda) McClorey of Essexville; grandchildren, Liam, Paxton, Griffin, Alora, and Evie; sisters, Pamela (Scott) Phillips of Marlette and Valerie (Greg Benthall) Beckrow of Caro; sister-in-law, Jackie Dost of  Auburn; aunts, Joann Dost of Silverwood, and Erlinda Dost of Mayville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Raymond Dost and Charles Dost; brother-in-law, Gerald Beckrow; special aunt and uncle, Betty and Wilbur Norrington, Harold Dost, Donald (Sara) Dost, Alice (Thomas) Lynch, and Duane Dost.

Per Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm, May 17, 2026 at the Moose Lodge, 1366 E. Caro Road, Caro Michigan.
