Obituary of Nancie Lynne Glave
Nancie “Cook” Glave
Nancie Glave, affectionately known to her family and friends as “Cook,” passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 28, 2026, at the Toni & Trish House. She was 72 years old.
Cook was born on April 2, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Harold and Katherine Leppien. She lived a life defined by an open heart, a radiant smile, and an infectious laugh that could brighten even the darkest moments.
She spent many years working in Human Resources at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw. In her later years, she found great joy working as a greeter at Meijer in West Branch, where she formed countless friendships and touched the lives of so many. She truly loved people, and they loved her right back.
Cook devoted many years of her life to fostering children and hosting foreign exchange students. She was honored as Michigan’s Foster Parent of the Year — a recognition that reflected the deep love and dedication she poured into every child who entered her home. Her foster girls always held a very special place in her heart.
She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, taking trips to the casino, fishing, long phone conversations with family and friends, and proudly showing off photos of her grandchildren — who were the absolute light of her life.
On August 24, 1991, she married the love of her life, Richard “Rick” Glave. Their love was steadfast and true.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Rick; her three children, DJ Brimmer (Mona), Ashlee Glave, and Kellee Winchell (Alexander); and her three cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Aryia, and Bodie. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Leppien, and dear friends Laura, Kathy, Diane, and Debbie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Katherine Leppien, and her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jeff Fryer, who are all surely waiting to welcome her into heaven.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time; however, the family will hold a memorial gathering at a later date.
