Obituary of Edward Wayne Moffett
Edward Wayne Moffett, age 78 of Sterling Michigan, died at home on March 6, 2026, surrounded by family.
Ed was born in Carson City Michigan on September 24, 1947 to the late Lloyd and Irene Moffett. Ed was drafted into the Army as a young man and served his country in Vietnam during the war. In his later years, he enjoyed fishing, camping and other outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean Moffett and his children; Kerri (Duane) Peterson of Edmore Michigan, David Moffett of Anaconda Montana, Jodi (Kelly) Moffett of Spokane Washington, Monica (Ray) Whitman of Standish Michigan, Geri Deboom of Bessemer Alabama, Daniel (Jen) Moffett of Omer Michigan. Also surviving him are 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Ed was one of five children. He is survived by a brother, Jason (Barbara) Moffett of Riverdale Michigan. He was preceded in death by brothers, Keith and Gary, his sister Loretta and his son in law, William Deboom.
Per Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place with burial planned for the Great Lakes National Cemetery. A celebration of life for family and friends is planned for April 18, 2026 at the Adams Township Hall in Sterling, Michigan.
