Obituary of Florence Alma Belden

Florence Alma Belden of Hale, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2026. She was born on July 31, 1929 and lived most of her life in South Branch and Hale.

She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel; brothers and sisters, Virginia Flack, Jean Rix, Porter (Bud) Stedman, and James Stedman; son-in-law, Roger Thayer; and grandchildren, Cassandra Belden, Bobby Arnold, Clint Thayer Sr. and Robert Lohr.

She is survived by her children, Ruby Thayer (Roger dec’d), Barbara Montney (Marvin), Samuel Belden (Marion), William Belden (Nancy), Becky Arnold (Robert), and Beth Fullerton (Jobe). 

Alma loved life and had a passion for quilting, but she took special pride in her 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm, April 18, 2026, at Goodar Township Hall, 6473 E.
