Obituary of Jean Marie Vos
Jean Marie “Jeannie” Vos, age 65, of Midland, Michigan, passed away on April 3, 2026, after a long battle with lupus. She was born on February 17, 1961, in Bay City, Michigan. Jeannie was a Christian woman whose faith was reflected in the way she lived each day, with kindness, humility, and steadfast love for those around her.
Jeannie was a selfless, loving, gentle soul, and tender heart. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, and she found great joy in the simple blessings of everyday life. Whether she was spending time in her flower garden, caring for animals, or sharing special moments with her grandchildren, Jeannie embraced each day with gratitude and love. Her garden was a reflection of her spirit, filled with patience, care, and life. Her love of bird watching reflected her appreciation for the peace and wonder of creation, and her grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life
Family was the center of Jeannie’s life, and she cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, James Vos; her son, Eric Vos and his wife, Kayla; and her beloved grandchildren, Kinley and Landon, who brought her immeasurable happiness. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Lewis and his wife, Susan, Kathy Howard and her husband, Timothy, Mary Kay Lewis, and Kevin Lewis and his wife, Cathy. Her extended family includes her mother-in-law, Nancy Richards, and her in-laws, Theresa Kuehnemund, Wayne Vos, Dean Vos and his wife, Diane, Pamela Vos and her husband Robert, Shelly Lenz and her husband, Larry, and Lisa Rubin. She was also deeply loved by her nieces and nephews, who will remember her with affection and gratitude.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Betty Lewis, and by her brothers-in-law, Kevin Vos and Ronald Kuehnemund.
Though Jeannie’s passing leaves a profound emptiness, her memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated April 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish - St. Marys Church. A visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Church before services beginning at 9:00 AM. The family invites family and friends to a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall 414 (225 S. Linn Street, Bay City, MI 48706) following mass.
