Terrance Allen Shooltz, known to many as Terry, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Bay City, Michigan, at the age of 75. He was born on July 12, 1950, in Bay City, Michigan. Terry died of natural causes, surrounded by the quiet dignity that marked the end of a life lived with purpose, hard work, and devotion to the people and places he loved.
Terry was a Bay City resident whose presence was felt through both his work and his relationships. He graduated St. Joseph High School in Bay City, where he excelled on the football field, as his team was honored in the Bay County Hall of Fame. Terry was a Veteran of the US Army; he began building the foundation for a life defined by determination and practical skill. He carried those qualities into adulthood and became the owner of Terry’s Tile Company, a business that reflected his hands-on nature and strong work ethic. Through his trade, he earned the respect of many who knew him as a man who took pride in doing a job well and who brought care and craftsmanship to everything he touched.
Terry enjoyed reading, fishing, and found peace in the simple pleasure of time spent outdoors. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Michigan State athletics and local Detroit sports teams, following them with loyalty and interest. Whether watching a game, talking about sports, or sharing stories with others who loved the same teams, he found connection and enjoyment in the traditions of Michigan sports. These interests were part of the rhythm of his life and reflected his appreciation for both quiet moments and spirited competition.
Terry will be deeply missed by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by parents Richard Shooltz, and Betty Luce, and brother Larry Shooltz.
