Mark Hudson

Obituary of Mark Allen Hudson

Mark Allen Hudson, known as Mark and held in loving memory, was born on March 17, 1971, in Lansing, Michigan, and passed away on April 14, 2026, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mark lived a life that moved with purpose, love, and unmistakable spark.
A steady light that shone bright, a flame that left its mark.
He carried warmth into every room, and laughter into every day,
With a heart so wide and spirit so bold, he found his own true way.

He was the beloved son of Marcia Whitaker, who preceded him in death, and he was cherished beyond measure by his wife, Kristina Hudson. He shared a close and loving bond with his mother in-law, Linda Addiss, whom he affectionately called "Mom Linda". He also shared a special connection with Marcia Schultz, who held a place in his life like a second mother.

Mark was a devoted father to Justin Hudson and his wife Erica, and to Dianna Saylor and her husband Brenden. Being a  grandfather brought him deep joy. He proudly loved Damon Hudson and Wyatt Saylor, and looked forward with love to the arrival of his granddaughter Avalynn Saylor.

His family was the center of his world. The place where everything made sense, where he felt strongest, and where his love ran deepest.

He was also deeply loved by his brother Wayne Shankle and his wife Deb, and by their children Aaron and Rhiannon, and by his sisters Laura Heath and her husband Richard, and Kelly Jonas, along with his nephews Connor and Izaac and his brother in-law Richard Addiss and his wife Jessica.
His friendships were lasting and true, especially with Rob Stahl, John Yauney, and Mike Fronczak. Men who knew his loyalty, humor and heart.

Born in Lansing, Mark grew up with grit, with humor, and determination.
He studied EMT, EMS, and Heating and Cooling Technology and built a life defined by hard work, skill and integrity.

Most of his career he spent in Heating and Cooling at Stahl & Sons and learned his trade.
His last job was at Cintas where he forged many friendships with his co-workers. He knew the value of hard work, of showing up and seeing things through,
And those who worked beside him knew the strength in all he’d do and that they could always count on him.

Yet Mark was never meant for a quiet or ordinary life.

There was always something in him that chased the thrill. The spark that pushed him toward the edge just to see what was there. He climbed, explored, laughed loud and lived fully. Whether it was heights that made hearts race or moments that made stories worth telling, Mark leaned in without hesitation.

He had a way of joking and teasing, flashing that familiar grin...just rebellious enough to keep life interesting, but always grounded in love.
More than anything, Mark loved his family.

He showed it not just in words, but in presence, in time spent, in laughter shared, in standing steady through life's storms.

He treasured the moments, big and small, and made sure people he loved knew it.

He found joy in traditions and togetherness. From the Renaissance Festival, where he proudly wore his kilt, to the gatherings he shared with his son Justin, where the music played loud and the Juggalos came together. Those weren't just events to him, they were memories, laughter and time spent side by side.

He loved being a dad, and he loved being part of his children's lives in ways that mattered whether it was everyday moments or unforgettable ones, like skydiving with his daughter Dianna by his side. Those were the things that filled him with pride.

Those who knew Mark will remember a man who lived fully loving, adventurous and completely himself.

He laughed loud, loved hard and said what he meant, every single time.

His life wasn't meant to be quiet or small. It was bold, real, unfiltered and it mattered.

And when it's all said and done...

he'd leave you with a look, a grin and something just a little inappropriate.
