Obituary of Rick Anthony Henika
Rick A. Henika, known to many simply as Rick, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Munger, Michigan, following a tragic accident. He was born on May 20, 1961, in Munger, Michigan, and lived his life with the kind of steady presence, hard work, and warmth that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Rick was a lifelong resident of the Munger area, and a man deeply rooted in his family and community. He was the son of the late Thomas Henika Sr. and Janet (Irwin) Henika, both of Munger, Michigan, who preceded him in death. Their influence helped shape the strong values Rick carried throughout his life, including loyalty, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the people around him.
For 44 years, Rick devoted himself to his career at PepsiCo, where he earned many achievements over the course of his long tenure. He was respected for his commitment, dependability, and strong work ethic, and he took great pride in the years he spent there. His coworkers and friends remember him as someone who could always be counted on and who approached his work with consistency and integrity. His long career was a reflection of the pride he took in doing a job well and of the character he brought to every part of his life. Outside of work, Rick found joy in the simple things that meant the most to him. He loved working on cars, spending time at races, and enjoying the company of friends and family. These were the moments that brought him happiness and allowed him to share his easygoing nature and good humor with others. Whether he was under the hood of a car, watching the excitement of a race, or gathered with loved ones, Rick was in his element when surrounded by the people and activities he enjoyed most.
Rick’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his wife, Jennie F. Henika, who shared in his life and stood by his side through the years. His siblings Thomas (Patty) Henika, Tim (Kris) Henika, and Kristy (John) Norton. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Tasha Case and Keith (Janelle) Case Jr., who were an important part of his family. Rick was a proud grandfather to Victoria (Paris) Rodriguez, Victoriano Garcia, Dominic Case, Gabe (Halie) Garcia, Chloe Case, Isabella Case, Naudia Case, Rafael Case, and Aveah Case. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Jayde Farmer, Angelica Garcia, and Lily Cunningham. In addition, he is remembered by many special nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. Those who knew Rick will remember a man who valued family, friendship, and hard work above all else. He had a way of making others feel welcome and appreciated, and his presence brought comfort and familiarity to those around him. His life was marked by dedication to the people he loved and by the many memories created through years of shared experiences, conversations, and time well spent together.
Rick’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will continue to live on through the lives he touched. He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his devotion to those he loved, and the many ways he showed up for the people who mattered most to him. Though his time here ended far too soon, the legacy of his life remains in the love he gave, the work he accomplished, and the memories he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.hyattewald.com Arrangements made with the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home.
