Obituary of Judith Kay Walters
Judith “Judy” Kay Walters, age 86, of Midland, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on April 23, 2026.
She was born August 28, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Anthony and Emma Schafsnitz. Judy enjoyed greeting card making and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Walters (Anthony Fazzina) of Lagrangeville, New York, and Connie VanWert (Brian) of Midland, Michigan; granddaughter, Dr. Meaghan Polega (Dr. James Polega) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; great-grandson, Gregory Polega; sister, Mary Jo Englehardt of Bridgeport, Michigan; brother, Gary Schafsnitz of Bridgeport, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Walters (2001); her parents, Anthony and Emma Schafsnitz; her mother- and father-in-law, Harvey and Mildred Walters; brother-in-law, Ernie Englehardt; and sister-in-law, Sally Schafsnitz.
At Judy’s request, cremation has taken place and a private burial will be conducted at a later date.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of MyMichigan Medical Center, Midland, for their care of Judy over the years and in her final days.
