Obituary of Jamie Ann Sharon
Jamie Ann Sharon December 13, 1963 – April 27, 2026
Jamie Ann Sharon, 62, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away on April 27, 2026, after fighting hard against lung cancer over the past two years. Born December 13, 1963, in Ayer, Massachusetts, she was raised in Bay City, Michigan, where she spent her life, proudly graduating from Bay City Central High School in 1982. She was the oldest of seven siblings and, in every way that mattered, she was the one who held people together.
Jamie was many things — a math wiz who could work through equations as easily as she worked through people's hearts, a pool shark who brought home tournament wins, and a cook who made sure no one left her table hungry. She spent countless hours tutoring her college classmates, her kids, and her nieces and nephews in math, and she had a gift for making it make sense to anyone who sat down with her. Whether it was warmed up spaghetti served on fine china or a spontaneous 3am barbecue, she had a gift for making ordinary moments feel like occasions. If you spent the night at Jamie's house, you didn't sleep much — and you didn't want to.
Her faith was the foundation of everything. She loved the Lord deeply and passed that love on to her children, grandchildren and her family without reservation. Family was not just important to Jamie — family was everything. She lived for the summer family reunions, surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved deeply. In her final years, Jamie fought hard against lung cancer with the same quiet strength and grace she brought to everything in her life — never complaining, never wavering, always putting others first.
She is survived by her daughter, Shanon; her grandchildren, Brook-Lyne, Bentley, Savannah, Michaela, Kaelynn, Amaya, Alexis, and Jaxson; her siblings Julie Brewster, whose husband Gene preceded her in death, Roger Gassman and his wife Amy, Jaynee Gassman - Scott, Cathy Ballard, with husband James and Ryan Gonea; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives are richer for having known her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ Sharon; her son, Michael Schultz; her mother, Janice Gassman; her father, James Gassman; her stepfather, Jack Gonea; her sister Heather Vliet; and her brother-in-law, Gene Brewster.
Jamie is home now — reunited with her husband and son, and at rest in the arms of the Lord she loved. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
