Alan Mushenski

Obituary of Alan Joseph Mushenski

Alan Joseph Mushenski, known to many as Al, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026, in Bay City, Michigan, just two days before his 74th birthday. He was born on April 30, 1952, in Saginaw, Michigan. Alan worked for the City of Saginaw and later retired after years of dedicated service. He took pride in his work and in the steady, dependable manner with which he approached life. Those who knew him remember a man who valued responsibility, showed up for the people who mattered to him, and carried himself with quiet strength. His presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Faith was an important part of Alan’s life. He was a Christian and a member of Old Town Christian Outreach Church, where he loved to worship the Lord. His faith gave him comfort and guided the way he lived. He found joy in fellowship, in worship, and in the hope that sustained him through life’s many seasons. Alan enjoyed the peaceful pleasures of life. He loved to travel, read, walk, and watch golf. These interests reflected his appreciation for both adventure and quiet reflection. His family and friends will remember these things as part of the gentle and thoughtful man he was.

He is survived by his daughters, Kelley Dwyer and Karey Mushenski. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Elizabeth Newbold and her husband Zachary, and Alonna Mushenski. His legacy continues through his great-granddaughter, Summer Jean Newbold, and through the great-grandson expected in June, Jonathan Riley Newbold. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mushenski and Jean Mushenski, (Dziesinski), whose memory remained close to him throughout his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Paul Mushenski, Tom Mushenski and his wife Grace, Gary Mushenski and his wife Judy, Jean DeLavern and her husband Dean, and Jim Mushenski and his wife Diane. Jim preceded Alan in death. His family will remember him with love, gratitude, and deep respect. He will be remembered for his wit and his love for the Lord. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will remain a lasting comfort to all who loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Old Town Christian Outreach Church, 600 Gratiot Ave., Saginaw MI on May 19, 2026 at 1 pm.  To sign the online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
