Obituary of Arnold James Houck, Sr.

Arnold James “Jim” Houck Sr., age76, of Twining Michigan, passed away May 3,2026.  He was born February 26, 1950, in the family home in Twining.  He loved being in the great outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, camping, or just enjoying mother nature.

He is survived by, his six children, April (Paul) Gerow, Arnold (Laura) Houck Jr., Steven Houck, Lorrie (Brian) Smith, Terrie (Jeremy) Wilk, Tracy (Matthew) Rose; all of his grandchildren, Kara Gerow, Logan Gerow, Trevor Houck, Tyler Houck, Carter Houck, Alexis Houck, Caden Smith, Bennett Smith, LeLand Wilk, Cameron Rose, and Kenzie Rose; his siblings, Kathy Brenske (Brad) Brenske, Deb Houck, and Dennis (Tracy) Houck; brother-in-law, Larry Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Smith) Houck; their son, Paul Houck, his parents, Arnold and Pearl (Hawkins) Houck; his granddaughter, Samantha Gerow; and his siblings, Leonard Houck, Frances (Jones) Houck, Carlton Houck, Tammy Houck, Richard “Rick” Houck, Opal Stein, Charles “Ed” Houck, and Virginia Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 pm – 5 pm, July 11, 2026 at the Family Farm in Twining, with a second location for a backup plan.
