Obituary of Richard Norman Ritter

Richard N. Ritter went home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2026.

He was born May 21, 1936 to LeRoy "Moose" and Pauline (Hoffman) Ritter in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Richard was a veteran of the Korean war and later worked at Chrysler and served as a proud officer at the Gladwin County Sheriff's office.

He is survived by his son Alan (Ruth Kooiker) Ritter and step sons Jerome "Jerry" of Gulfport Mississippi and Jeff (Wendy) Sibley of Blountville, Tennessee, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Richard enjoyed wood crafts and working in his yard. He set up an annual veterans memorial with flags and his wood creations along the road in front of his home in Beaverton each year.

Richard was preceded in death by his brother Lee Ritter and his beloved wife Kathleen A. (Clous) Ritter in 2024.

Richard chose not to have formal services but will be forever laid to rest with his beloved wife on her family farm in Kingsley Michigan where a private memorial will be held at a later date.
