Robert McGrandy

Obituary of Robert Lee McGrandy

Robert Lee McGrandy “Bob”, passed peacefully at home June 5, 2026, in Hale Michigan. He was born in Bay City, Michigan to the late Lawrence and Theresa McGrandy. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Delight McGrandy, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion over 43 years of marriage.

He graduated from Saginaw High School. Bob dedicated over 25 years of service for General Motors. He was a man of many passions. Whether he was carefully tending his garden or dedicating his time to restoring classic cars in his garage, he had a deep appreciation for working with his hands and a natural curiosity for figuring things out.  A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and hunting, but most of all he cherished time spent with those he loved.  He found joy in cooking for others and sharing meals with family and friends.   He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived by Paul Kasmarek of Findlay Ohio., who was raised as a son to him and the children of his late wife, Jeff Bladecki of Bay City, Michigan., Joy Stauffer of West Linn Oregon., and Gene Bladecki of Bay City Michigan. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ashley Doyle, Nicholas Appoloney, Dr. Jacy Stauffer, Justine Stauffer, Jordan Bladecki, Alex Bladecki, David Wolf, Noah Kasmarek and Darby Summers. He is further survived by his dear brother and sister George McGrandy and Dianna Rhodes, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Bob’s parents, he was preceded in death by his cherished stepdaughters, Gay Miller, and Delight Harding, his sisters Catherine Machel and Joanne Sauseda, and his brother, Lawrence R. McGrandy.

As he wished, cremation has taken place and no service is to be planned. In lieu of flowers those wishing to express sympathy are asked to consider a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his late wife, Delight, to support research in Alzheimers disease and dementia at alz.org/research. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with the Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
