Mike earned an associate's degree in mechanical engineering from Delta College, building a foundation that reflected both discipline and problem-solving. While his education gave him technical skills, his true calling emerged through his work as an author and photographer. He became especially well known for creating the Lost in Michigan books, a project that combined his love of travel, storytelling, and visual discovery. Through his writing and photography, he introduced readers to hidden corners of the state and helped others see familiar places in a new light.
