Bob, age 73, passed away peacefully at home July 14, 2021, on his beloved Centennial Farm, the farm where he was born, raised and worked. Bob was born July 16, 1947 to the late Wilmer and Emma (Buschke) Carigan. Bob passed his love of the family farm onto his son Chris, who now cares for it as the fourth generation. Bob was involved in local boards and served on the Buena Vista Township Zoning Board and Board of Review for many years. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war. Bob worked as an independent contractor with Central Petroleum Co. servicing the lubrication needs of many farmers in the area for over forty years. He was known as “Cen-Pe-Co Bob”.
Bob is survived by Sally, his wife of 54 years: their son, Chris (Megan) Carigan: a granddaughter, Lindsey; step-granddaughters, Hadley and Aubrey MacIntosh; his sisters, Dorothy (Marvin) Schreiber and Joanne (James) Neumann; sister–in-law, Patricia Stoddart; and many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill; sister-in-law, Joyce Carigan; and brother-in-law, Jerry Stoddart.
A Life Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday July 23, 2021, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 6065 King Rd. (corner of Portsmouth and King roads), Bridgeport Michigan with Pastor Rheanna Goodrich officiating.
