Obituary of Gaylene Margaret Rouech

Rouech, Gaylene Margaret (Wascher) Bay City, MI Gaylene, age 82, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was born December 3, 1938 in Munger Michigan to the late Arnold and Margaret (Koreck) Wascher. She was a wonderful dancer, and especially loved dancing with her brother Terry. She loved old Country Music, the louder the better. She was an avid gardener, not just when she was on the farm, but using her very “green thumb” to prune and tend the yard and garden at Close to Home. She regularly attended Lutheran services held at Close to Home, frequently spending time with Pastor Killinger. In 1956 Gaylene, at age 17, was the first Munger Potato Festival Queen. She had a lifelong passion for the festival, and she lived her life to the fullest by spending this past Sunday morning with her son at the Munger Potato Festival. Although she had enjoyed many things, her greatest love was her grandchildren and their families. She is survived by her son, Bart Rouech of Munger; 5 grandchildren, Joel and Justin (Cheyanne) Walraven, Kyiana and Lance Miller, and Westin Rouech; 6 great-grandchildren, Terry (Linda) Wascher of Bay City; sisters-in-law, Anna (Jerry) Pavalwk of Munger, Ellen Greania of Munger, Marge Rouech of Midland; brother-in-law, Bill (Sylvia) Rouech of Bay City; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Dan; daughter, Danette Miller; granddaughter, Nichole Rouech; great-granddaughter, Anna Miller; daughter-in-law, Susan Rouech; sister, Dayle Jacobs; and brother-in-law, Tom Rouech. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Floral Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 2215 Cass Avenue Road, Bay City Michigan. Pastor Killinger will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Wishes of the Family.
