Obituary of Mary Josephine Christenson

Mary Josephine Christenson of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 3, 2021 at the age of 83 years. She was born on November 7, 1937 to the late Arthur and Cornelia Starlin of Flint, Michigan. She was the third of five siblings Patsy (Jack) Swenor, Calvin (Connie) Starlin, Phyllis (Leonard) Mattis, Karen (Nelson) Loranger. Mary married William Francis Christenson in 1953 and had one child Jeffery Christenson. She also had a long relationship with Fred William Stevenson Jr. the father of her next four children Robert Louis, Beatrice, Laura, and Edward Corey. She was a long-time member of Great Lakes Baptist Temple. Mary went to Flint Central High School and worked at AC Spark Plug. Mary was a devoted mother who enjoyed family, friends, cooking, music and singing. She is survived by her four living children Jeffery Christenson, Robert (Tina) Christenson, Laura (Kurt) Kemp, and Edward Corey (Sylvia) Christenson. Grand children Robert Christenson, David Christenson, Kara (Richard) Reinders, Cory Gibbons, Cameron Kemp, Trinity Kemp, Nicole Christenson, Michaela Christenson, Lucia Christenson, and Troy Christenson. Great-grandchildren Liam Reinders, Leylie Reinders, Levi Reinders, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Great Lakes Baptist Temple 2112 E. Maple Road, Flint Michigan 48507.
