Lynn Pokorski

Obituary of Lynn Robert Pokorski

Pokorski, Lynn R. Quanicassee, MI Passed away on August 17, 2021 with his wife by his side. He was born on July 2, 1949 to the late James and Edith (Hwacinski) Pokorski in Detroit, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Kathleen (Johnston) on July 25, 1998, and she survives him. In January, 1998, Lynn retired from the Detroit Police Department upon serving 25 years. He continued to work as a Police Officer for the Village of Unionville and as a Deputy with the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department for many years. In 2018, after 42 years in law enforcement, he completely retired. Lynn loved living on the water and often said “there’s nothing better than sitting on the porch watching the waves roll by”. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, doing crossword puzzles, shooting fireworks, watching sports, helping his wife with her gardening projects, and volunteering at Multiple Sclerosis Society events. He touched so many lives and will be missed by many. Left to cherish his memory along with his wife are his brother, Alan; sister, Karen (Michael) Barker; 3 nieces; and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Pokorski. Per Lynn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to: The Retired Detroit Police & Fire Fighters Association, RDPFFA, 2525 E. 14 Mile, Sterling Heights, MI 48310 To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com
