Obituary of Dennis Michael Maxwell
Dennis Maxwell passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021, after sustaining injuries from an accidental fall at home. He was 71 years old. Dennis was born in Saginaw, Michigan on January 24, 1950 to John Thomas and Winifred (Peggy) Julia Maxwell.
Denny was a man who lived through many cardiovascular issues without complaint. He was gifted in many ways. He was a record-setting athlete at Bullock Creek High School, served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and helped implement the MSMS program at Dow Chemical Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on rivers and lakes of Michigan, and was a member of the Freeland Gun Club and Saginaw Gun Club for many years. He was a gifted chef, baking 12 dozen cookies every Christmas to give to friends and family.In his retirement years, Denny and his wife of 27 years, Carolann, traveled in their motorhome around the United States along with their cat, Vinny.
Denny is survived by his wife, Carolann; his brothers, Rob Maxwell and Tony Maxwell; and a sister, Pat Weldon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Denny was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Matthew and John; and many relatives from the Maxwell clan who lived in Freeland and Saginaw.
As he wished, Denny has been cremated and a Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2500 N. West River Road in Sanford. A private burial will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery in Sanford. A celebration of life will be held after the Funeral Mass.
