Obituary of Ernest Raymond Butler

Earnest “Ernie” Butler of Saint Charles, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday September 18, 2021, in his home surrounded by family and friends. Age 69 years. The son of the late Ray and Betty (Simms) Butler, Earnest was born on December 8, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Marion Gray, the love of his life of 48 years, on November 18, 1972. She survives him. Considered a “Jack of all Trades” by many, Earnest had previously worked for Vinyl Sash as well as Thompson Boats. Earnest had a deep love for gardening often remembered for raising hot peppers and tomatoes and making extremely hot salsa. Earnest also had a talent in the kitchen, cooking family style meals for his family was his passion. Earnest was famous for his homemade fried chicken, baked beans, and egg noodles. Surviving besides his wife Marion are 3 daughters, Tina (Joel) Larkin of Saint Charles, Tary Butler and John Case of Saint Charles, Kimmy (Eldon) Bills of Saint Charles; 3 sisters, Sheri Foreman of Saginaw, Dena Butler of Saint Charles, and Mary Butler of Saint Charles; 7 grandchildren, Justin Larkin of Saginaw, Tyler (Dezaraya) Butler of Alma, Jason Larkin of Saint Charles, Timothy (Hannah) Bills of Saint Charles, Joshua (Allyson) Larkin of Midland, Autumn Bills of Saint Charles, Zachary Butler of Saint Charles; 2 great-grandchildren, Availynn Gilbert of Alma, and Zaydrian Butler of Alma. Preceding Earnest in death are his son, Timothy Butler; his parents, Ray & Betty Butler; his siblings, Betty Ann Butler of Saint Charles, Ruth Anne Case of Saint Charles, April Butler of Saint Charles, Tony Butler of Saint Charles, and Mark Butler of Saint Charles. A Celebration of Life will be held October 30, 2021 from 1pm-4pm, at the St. Charles Wolverine Club, 14690 Ithaca Rd, St. Charles, MI 48655.
