Obituary of Carl Walter Mohowitsch

Carl Walter Mohowitsch born on February 14, 1940 in Midland Michigan to the late Carl Frank and Fae Irene (Cronk) Mohowitsch, passed away September 21, 2021 in Bay City, Michigan at age 81 due to complications of liver failure. While attending T.L. Handy High School he joined the US Army unit he graduated in 1958 and then joined the Navy retiring in 1977. After retirement, he worked as a 3rd & 2nd engineer for the Military Sea Lift Command in the Far East, and then worked for Millers Brewing Company for 16 years. Carl had four children with his first wife. Carl and his second wife, Marvie (Sertimo) were unable to have children of their own, but adopted Marvie's niece, and years later, adopted Marvie's great-niece, accepting and loving them as their own daughter and granddaughter. He left behind written stories of his life and spoke of how his grandfather, Roy Cronk, was "the most important and the most wonderful person in my life" teaching him to become a man, how to hunt, and how to fish. He also talked fondly about his wonderful Uncle Clare as always having time for him. Carl is survived by his children, Carl, Melissa, Gregory, Barbara, and Solly; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ellanore Goater of Florida and Marlene Elliot of Alaska; his life-long dear friend, Donald Fleming; his thoughtful neighbors; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harold and Howard; and his wife, Marvie. Carl will join his brother, mother, and father with a graveside funeral at Floral Gardens Cemetery, 2215 Cass Ave, Bay City, MI on October 8, 2021 at 11:30 am.
