Obituary of Samuel K. VanHorn

Van Horn, Samuel K. Pinconning, Michigan Sam died at his home on September 24, 2021 while surrounded by his loving family. They were able to tell him how much they loved him and shared special memories with him until he passed away. Samuel K. Van Horn, was born in Battle Creek on July 15, 1949 to the late Jack and Margaret (Frey) Van Horn. Sam will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. He fought a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer the past 2 1/2 years and is finally at rest. Samuel was known to all for his sense of humor and his caring concern for people. What brought Sam the greatest joy, was serving others and telling others about his wonderful hope for a future in a paradise earth (Rev. 21:3,4). He served as an elder for many years as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was grateful to be a source of encouragement and strength to all who sought his help. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jean (O’Connor); two children, Kyle Samuel Van Horn and Kelly Jean Van Horn; two siblings, Mark (Elsie) Van Horn and Gail (Dave) Fair; two special brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Frank) Lofaro and Ryan (Donna) O’Connor; and many loving nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A Virtual Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, October 2, 2021.
