Obituary of Nelson W. Clark
Nelson W. Clark, age 88, of Coleman went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Coleman Fields Assisted Living. He was born February 17, 1933 in Warren Township to the the late Merl W. and Vola (Badgley) Clark. Nelson married Donna Maxine Barber on May 31, 1957 at the Clare Baptist Church. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2020.
Nelson served his country proudly during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hornet CVA 12 from 1952-1956. In 1970 he started Nelson W. Clark Bulldozing. He was known as an honest businessman and an excellent operator. In 1959 he began working for Pat’s Gradall Service in Midland, retiring at the age of 83. He was a member of the Beaverton Baptist Church, the Hornet Club, and the Coleman VFW. Nelson was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Donna and Nelson spent many winters in Florida meeting and making friends with people across the county. His witty sense of humor will be missed by those who loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Gary and Connie Clark, Mark and Laurie Clark, and Bruce and Dawn Clark all of Coleman; his daughter, Leane & Aaron Strouse of Clare; grandchildren, Erin Jacobs, Bradley and Leah Clark, Andy (Megan) and Branden Clark, and Hannah, Karrah and Baylee Strouse; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Javon Jacobs, Jiovanni Alcoser, Mason, Maren and Marek Clark, and Eloise Clark. A life celebration service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday November 13, 2021 at Faith United Methodist Church, 209 E. Jefferson, Coleman, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
