Obituary of Terry Lee Russler

Terry L. Russler, age 74, of National City, MI passed away at home on Nov. 6, 2021 while in the hospice care of his loving and devoted family. Terry was born in Jackson on April 10, 1947, to the late Frederic Earl & Lois Arleta (Boomer) Russler and started growing up in Napoleon, MI with his two sisters. He and his family moved to Tawas at age 9 after purchasing property there. He enjoyed playing football for Tawas High School as well as a lifelong love for hunting, fishing and anything related to the outdoors. He was a charter member of the Tawas Area Moose as well as member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a very generous man donating to numerous local and nationwide charities. He loved cooking gourmet feasts for family and friends that were enjoyed by all. He worked in construction for both residential and commercial projects in Michigan as well as Florida. He later honed his entrepreneurial skills with an upholstery business, real estate sales, firearms dealer, commodities trader and a host of other activities. Terry was often called upon to repair anything and could always do so with the bare essentials. A source of great joy and pride in his life was his son, David, and watching him graduate from Michigan Technological University and following his career as he traveled around the world for General Motors. He was a devoted family man, a loving husband and very proud father. He was a proud American and loyal friend. He always looked forward to getting together with his friends at the camp. He will be missed by all. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia (Utash) Russler; his son, David; two sisters, Judy Sharma and Susan McDaniels (Randy); his brothers-in-law, Jim (Evelyn), Rick (Deanna) & David (Sheree) Utash; his sister-in law, Susan (David) Schulz; and numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces. Terry was predeceased by his father & mother-in-law Leonard & Dorothy Utash; and his sister-in-law, Cindy Utash.
