Obituary of Raymond Carl Veldboom
Raymond "Ray J" Veldboom, age 63 of Beaverton, Michigan, left this world on November 27, with his loving wife Kelly of 37 years by his side. He was born November 27, 1958 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Austin and Jacqueline (Van Belkum) Veldboom. Ray spent his working career as a Union Electrician with Local 275 until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Sanford Eagles #3677, where he was a Chaplain for 10 years and played the role of Santa's Elf at the children's Christmas Party every year. He was known for his wacky attire, his quick wit, constant smile and his ability to make anyone laugh. He was always the life of the party. He will mostly be remembered and missed for his many contributions to our area youth, his love and commitment for his community and Country, and his respect and dedication to our Veterans.
Ray is survived by his wife Kelly; brothers, Steve Veldboom, and Jack (Christy) Veldboom; sister, Melinda Veldboom; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Greg Veldboom. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2022. T.T.F.N. Ta Ta for now.
