Obituary of Elenore Lee Boots

Elenore Lea Boots “Ellie”, age 83, of West Branch, Michigan, passed away on December 18, 2021 with her loving husband, Rex Boots, by her side. Ellie was born on August 11, 1938, to parents Raymond and Margaret Palmby, in Grand Rapids, MN. She was raised in Lakefield, MN and later attended Mankato State University where she graduated in 1962 with a teaching degree in Home Economics. Ellie then took a teaching position in Redwood Falls, MN. At the Minnesota State Fair, Ellie met future husband Rex Boots while peeling potatoes. Ellie and Rex were married in 1963 and went on to have two boys, Allan and David. They resided on the family farm in Redwood Falls, MN. Ellie and Rex owned and operated “Rex Boots Realty” for many years until they retired and eventually moved to West Branch, MI. Ellie’s greatest joys were her husband Rex Boots, of 58 years, and her family. She also enjoyed gardening, crafting, making homemade cards, and spending time on church activities. She is survived by her brother, Robert Palmby; sister, Deb Ridgewell; children, Allan (Lisa) Boots and David (Susan) Boots; grandchildren, Katie, Sara, Emily, Lindsey, and Derrick; and great-grandchildren, Charlie and Annabelle. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Raymond and Margaret Palmby. A Celebration of Life will be held with family and friends later next year (summer of 2022).
