Rosemary Lightfoot (born: 5/10/29; deceased: 12/27/21) 92 years old
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, family member, and friend was delivered on the arms of angels to her everlasting home on December 27, 2021. Rosemary passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness.
Rosemary was born May 10, 1929, in Saginaw, Michigan to Charles and Sophie (Meshinski) Hickey. She was the oldest sister to Joanne, Jim, Ellen, John, Patrick, Alice, and Joseph.
Rosemary married the love of her life, Rodger Lee Lightfoot, on May 22, 1948. Together they raised a beautiful family and shared a wonderful life together. In May of 1998 they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Rodger went home to his final resting place on May 6, 1999.
Upon Rosemary’s retirement from U.S. Graphite and Wickes Corp, they moved to Lake, MI where Rosemary was elected Freeman Township Treasurer for over 20 years. She enjoyed many conversations with the good residents who stopped by to pay their taxes. She was also, very active in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Marion, MI for many years.
Besides being a loyal Michigan Wolverine and Detroit Tigers fan, Rosemary enjoyed dancing at the Swiss Inn (Lake George), shopping, yard work, and most importantly, spending time with her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she truly enjoyed showering her family with gifts!

Our mother was one of the strongest women we knew. She was beautiful inside & out and had the biggest, selfless heart. She was always there for everyone and asked for very little in return. She has truly left a big hole in many hearts and will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to have her in their lives.
At Rosemary’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her live is planned for some time in the spring of 2022.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Rosemary’s name. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com
