Obituary of Lorraine Theresa McDonough

Lorraine Theresa McDonough, age 97, of Bay City, Michigan passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022.  She was born September 19, 1924 to the late Stanley and Agnes (Kurlinski) Timm.           

As a graduate of St. James High School, Lorraine joined the Army Cadet Nurse Corps and received a Registered Nurse degree from Mercy Central School of Nursing in 1945.  She practiced nursing during the following thirty years in Bay City at Mercy Hospital, General Hospital, and Rachel Sovereign Memorial Home, where she resided for the last four years.

Gardening was Lorraine’s passion.  She also enjoyed classical music and Scrabble; embraced her faith; loved and was loved very much.  She was a member of St. Joseph and St. Jude Thaddeus parishes, St. Joseph Legion of Mary Auxiliary, and St. Stanislaus Altar Rosary Society.

Surviving Lorraine are her daughter, Margaret M. McDonough; son, Jack (Mardi) McDonough; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Michael) McDonough; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

 Lorraine was married in St. Stanislaus Church an August 12, 1947 to John J. McDonough (deceased in 1993).  She was also predeceased by her daughter, Beatrice A. McDonough; son, Michael M. McDonough; grandson, James A. McDonough; sisters, Sr. Elegia Timm, Sr. Dulcis Timm, and Virginia Timm; brothers, Arnold, Edward, Raymond, Daniel, and Richard Timm.
