Obituary of Clair Allan Crippin
Crippin, Clair A. of Oakley, Michigan passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on April 5, 2022 at the age of 71. He was born in Ovid Michigan, November 26, 1950 to the late Albert and Clara “Peg” Crippin Sr.
Clair was an avid hunter and always looked forward to opening day. He enjoyed staying busy and finding new things to tinker with outside. He was able to fix anything that was broken and was the type of man to never throw something out, because it may have a purpose later. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a phenomenal cook and was especially known for his potato soup and chop suey.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Crippin (Cords); children, Chantal (Kevin) VanAtta, Chad (Tamara) Crippin, and Laurie (Gary) Crippin; grandchildren, Lucas (Trina) VanAtta, Jacob (Kaylee) VanAtta, Megan (David) Hecht, Daniel (Linzy) Crippin, Sapphire (Timmy) Williams, and Maddi Johnson; great-grandchildren, Blake Vandyke, Dean Vandyke, Maxwell Crippin, and Clifton VanAtta; siblings, Sherry (Tom) Jewel and Merrilee Walker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by son, Michael Johnson; granddaughter, Chara Rae; and brother, Albert Crippin Jr.
